Do you want to make a positive impact on the environment this summer? From June 29th to August 28th, REDO and ACE Recycling and Disposal will be working to educate the community of South Salt Lake to recycle right! Volunteer shifts run Monday – Thursday with morning and evening shifts available.
South Salt Lake tends to have high levels of contamination (unrecyclable items) in their recycling. To address this, REDO and ACE will be working to update signage on curbside recycling bins so that people can see what exactly should go into their bins. In South Salt Lake, you can place plastic bottles and jugs, food and beverage cans, paper, and cardboard in the recycling bin. Recycling right and limiting contamination in recycling systems helps to save precious resources.
This is a social distancing-friendly volunteer opportunity. Volunteers will meet at the beginning and end of each shift at Fitts Park, 3050 500 E, South Salt Lake. All supplies will be provided to those who attend. There will be a short training for all new volunteers as well as online resources provided.
Contact Rachel Reddick at info@redoright.org or call 503-442-7139 for questions about the program.
